We cordially invite you to contribute to the EACD2020 meeting by submitting your communications.
The deadline for submitting abstracts is December 8, 2019.
The deadline for notification of acceptance or rejection of work is January 19, 2020

MAIN THEMES
With the motto “FROM CHILDHOOD TO ADULTHOOD WITH DISABILITY” we invite authors from all fields and professions surrounding children with disabilities to submit their topics. We propose four main modules/fields of knowledge to guide the full range of conference topics:
I. musculoskeletal disorders
II. comorbidities
III. technological support of the rehabilitation process
IV. neuroplasticity
The main goals of the conference are to present the latest knowledge, as well as diagnostic and therapeutic trends, and to create a forum for meetings and interdisciplinary discussions between specialists in the field of childhood disabilities including physicians, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, pedagogues, speech therapists and biomedical and biomechanics engineers, orthotists. The conference will centre on the process of growing up and crossing the border into adulthood with a disability present since childhood. We aim to address the key elements supporting the process of transition and facilitating the therapeutic management along the life course.
All abstracts related to childhood and young persons’ disabilities are welcome, including those on treatment, prevention, early detection, early intervention, transition and lifespan issues, parents’ and siblings’ experiences, adult research, health systems, engineering in disability, basic sciences, social science research and ethics.
The following topics are a non-exclusive list of themes suggested by the scientific committee for free communications:
o Motor and non-motor interventions (physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech language therapy, environment)
o Technology-assisted rehabilitation (robotics, exergaming, telerehabilitation mobile applications, etc)
o Assistive devices and technology solutions (for movement, communication, learning, etc) improving daily life tasks and quality of life
o Orthotics
o Orthopaedic surgery (hip surveillance, hip pain, mini-invasive procedures)
o Neurosurgery
o Palliative care and pain
o Gene therapy, stem cell therapy, neuroprotection and pharmacology
o Novel therapies for rare childhood diseases
o Innovation in diagnostics and assessments
o Neuroplasticity
o Musculoskeletal imagery, modeling and pathophysiology
o Movement analysis and biomechanics
o Measures across ICF
o Cognitive and language assessments
o Visual impairment
o Epilepsy
o Autism spectrum disorders
o Enhancing participation
o Child and family centered research and care
o Epidemiology, registry based research
o Lifespan perspectives

PRESENTATION PREFERENCE
Oral Presentation sessions: a group of talks within a theme by individual participants. Eight presentations of 10 minutes each (including questions and answers) will be scheduled in parallel sessions of 90 minutes.
e-Poster sessions: provide the opportunity for presenting novel methods and findings and include discussion on-site. E-posters will be sorted by theme. Each e-Poster will be on display via the search engine, including a dedicated e-Poster session to each theme.
Instructional Courses: didactic sessions of 90 min in the morning with at least 2 instructors addressing a focused theme or method with appeal to a targeted audience. Examples are new assessments, investigations, techniques, treatments etc. The courses shall be interactive and practical.
Mini Symposium: provides a state-of-the-art overview of research evidence and clinical application of a theme that is relevant and innovative. At least 3 presenters with a multidisciplinary background will present in a 90 min session that includes 15 minutes for discussion with the audience. Mini symposia involving stakeholders, including patients and families, and related to the motto of the conference will be favored.
GUIDELINES
Before you begin with the online abstract form please prepare the following information:
Only abstracts following the guidelines will be accepted.
For Oral and e-Poster presentations the abstract body text is limited to a maximum of 250 words, excluding title and authors, and acknowledgements. For instructional courses and mini symposia the limit is 350 words. Figures and tables are not allowed.
Abstract title (limited to a maximum of 200 characters).

Abstracts should be submitted via the online submission platform. Mandatory fields are marked with a red asterisk (*).
REVIEW PROCESS AND CRITERIA
The Reading Committee - Reviewer Panel will review the abstracts. The committee will contact authors January 31st 2020 at the latest with formal acceptance or rejection notices in order to allow presenters sufficient time to register for the conference and make travel arrangements. All notifications will be sent to the e-mail address provided during the abstract submission process. The number of submissions that can be accepted is limited. Instead of an Oral presentation e-Poster may be advised.
REGISTRATION
All accepted presenters must register for the conference before April 01, 2020. Presenters not registered by this date will not be included in scientific program.
DISSEMINATION OF ABSTRACTS
250 Selected abstracts (Oral and e-Poster sessions) will be published in Developmental Medicine & Child Neurology. Following the conference, the selected abstracts will be made publicly available on the DMCN website in pdf-format. All accepted abstracts will be published on the conference website and will be available through a digital app during the conference.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Please do not submit an abstract if you are not confident that you will be able to attend the conference and make the presentation. If your presentation has been accepted but extenuating circumstances prevent your attendance, we ask that you attempt to find another individual to make the presentation and notify us of this change as soon as possible at contact@eacd2020.org. If cancellation becomes absolutely unavoidable, please contact us immediately at the aforementioned email address so we can remove your presentation from the conference program.
GENERAL RULES
Abstract submission indicates acceptance of and compliance with the rules outlined below:
Submission of an abstract constitutes a commitment by the presenting author(s) to attend the conference and present the findings, i.e., that each one of the proposed participants has given his/her consent for the proposal and is committed to participate. If accepted, the presenting author(s) is required to pay all costs associated with the conference.
All authors have consented to be included as co-authors, have read and approved the abstract and its contents, and agree with the results stated, that all authors are acknowledged of and agree with the abstract submission rules, and permit the abstract, if accepted, to be published as submitted. The responsibility of such agreement is within the firs/presenting author.
The submitting author of an abstract for Oral or e-Poster presentation is considered to be the presenting author.
The work described is original to the authors and was conducted in accordance with current ethical standards and regulations in biomedical and clinical research.
It is expected that all research involving human subjects or animals has been approved by the appropriate ethical review authorities.
Abstracts must be unbiased and conflicts of interest shall be disclosed. Papers that are written in a manner that promotes a company, service, or product will not be considered.
Submitted abstracts may not be previously published or presented at other national and foreign meetings; this condition is only for submitted free papers.
